Military aircraft declare emergency in Turkish airspace
A US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft declared an emergency and made an emergency landing in Turkey after taking off from a Greek air base.
Yesterday evening, at approximately 22:00 (Turkish time), a US Air Force C-17A Globemaster III military transport aircraft (06-6161) took off from a Greek air base. Shortly after takeoff, it experienced a technical malfunction and declared an emergency with code 7700. After contacting Turkish air traffic control authorities, the aircraft was granted permission to land at the 10th Main Jet Base Incirlik, where it landed at approximately 23:10 (Turkish time).
