The police officer who died in the attack on the entertainment venue was laid to rest.
The retired police officer who lost his life in the armed attack on an entertainment venue in Kocaeli was buried in Sakarya.

The incident occurred on March 27th at approximately 00:30 in an entertainment venue on Şahabettin Bilgisu Street in the Ömerağa neighborhood of İzmit district. One or more unidentified individuals arrived at the venue by car and opened fire with long-barreled weapons. The attack resulted in the deaths of the venue owner Volkan Berberoğlu (42), Kocaelispor Congress member Cem Özer (49), and retired police officer Talip Çakır, who had recently retired. Two other people were injured. The funeral of retired police officer Talip Çakır, who died in the armed attack, was held today in Karasu district of Sakarya.
